Stoneware - Large bird bath - birds & flowers

Description: This ceramic bird bath is decorated with birds motive on the front and back of the leg. The bowl is decorated with a green glaze in the centre and with flowers around the edge. The birdbath is cut out by hand from rolled out sheets of off-white stoneware clay. When the clay is leather hard the designs are carved in. Stamps are then used for adding details. Once bisque fired, the bird bath is modestly decorated with oxides and colourful glazes to emphasize the natural colour and texture of the clay.
